January 30, 2014 – Los Angeles, CA – Get ready to go “All In” at the 8th Annual Stars & Strikes Celebrity Bowling and Poker Tournament to benefit A Place Called Home (APCH), on Wednesday, March 19, 2014, 7:00 PM – 11:00 PM, at the PINZ Bowling & Entertainment Center in Studio City, CA.
Tickets are on sale now for the all-ages high energy benefit which features 32 lanes of bowling action, a No-Limit All-In Texas Hold’em professional-level poker tournament.
The annual Stars & Strikes event raises funds and awareness for APCH, a safe haven in South Central Los Angeles which supports underserved inner-city youth and empowers them to take ownership of the quality and direction of their lives through programs in education, the arts, nutrition, fitness, college preparation and college scholarships.
Over the past seven years, Stars & Strikes has raised more than $700,000 for APCH’s free programs with a focus on the teens; providing recreation, field trips, academic tutoring, college preparation and college tours for hundreds of South Central teens, many of whom have gone on to break negative cycles and be the first in their families to attend college.
“This is such a fun event and the funds we raise will make a meaningful difference in the lives of hundreds of young people at A Place Called Home,” said Jonathan Zeichner, Executive Director, A Place Called Home. “And attendees are welcome to come visit APCH and get involved as volunteers and in other ways, which makes it a win for everybody.”
