February 20, 2014 – Los Angeles, CA – A Place Called Home today announced it is honoring music industry veteran Beata Czechowski, KIIS-FM Assistant Program Director and Music Director, at its 8th Annual Stars & Strikes Celebrity Bowling and Poker Tournament on Wednesday, March 19, 2014, 7:00 PM – 11:00 PM, at the PINZ Bowling & Entertainment Center in Studio City, CA.

The recognition is in support and with great thanks from A Place Called Home after years of dedication from Czechowski to its center, programs and extended family.

“Over the years I have had the opportunity to participate in many events APCH, from Adopt a Family during the Holidays, to donating dresses for prom. But, what I love about Stars & Strikes, and what makes this particular event so special to me, is that the night brings together two of my passions; working in the music industry and bettering the community,” said Beata Czechowski, Assistant Program Director and Music Director, KIIS-FM Los Angeles. “I am beyond happy to be in a position that allows me to use my resources to help such an amazing organization and grow a wonderful family-fun event such as Stars & Strikes for A Place Called Home.”

In her position at KIIS-FM, Beata is always looking for ways to strengthen the ties between the community and the station. Through the new KIIS Cares program, the station is able to recognize community partners like APCH with on-air and online features, highlighting everything going on in the community and encouraging listeners to get involved with everything from dog adoptions to beach clean ups, and more.

“Beata is an incredible supporter and believer in our mission at APCH,” said Jonathan Zeichner, Executive Director, A Place Called Home. “Her commitment to the community and dedication to inspiring others exemplify the best in a music industry partner. We cannot thank her enough and we are excited to be able to recognize and honor her at Stars & Strikes.”

The annual event raises funds and awareness for APCH, a safe haven in South Central Los Angeles which supports underserved inner-city youth and empowers them to take ownership of the quality and direction of their lives through programs in education, the arts, nutrition, fitness, college preparation and college scholarships.
