SPIN NEWS: BT, HOOOVERPHONIC HIT JENSENERGY
What is JENSENERGY, you ask? Well, it is a coast-to-coast North American tour showcasing a wide array of electronic acts and interactive technology organized in the spirit of grand innovation. Hoorah for innovation, I say. Slated to join the tour, which kicks off Sept. 28 in the fine city of Austin and wraps Nov. 6 in Vancouver, are BT (aka: Brian Transeau) and Hooverphonic. BT, whose new album Movement In Still Life, is out now on Nettwork, will be performing for the first time with his live band. And Hooverphonic are all prepped to release their third record, The Magnificent Tree, through Epic on Sept. 26. But aside from a barrage of fine musical acts, the tour will also showcase new electronic products, such as video games and sound equipment, in a special InterAct”ive Pavilion at each show. Remember when music festivals used to feature creepy circus side shows? Now it’s all about technology pavilions. Sheesh. Check www.jensenenergy.com for more info, and here’s where you can catch the tour:
