January 23, 2013 – Los Angeles, CA – Bring your best “poker face” and go for a “royal flush” at the 7th Annual Stars & Strikes Celebrity Bowling and Poker Tournament to benefit A Place Called Home (APCH), on Wednesday, March 6, 2013, 7:00 PM – 11:00 PM, at the PINZ Bowling & Entertainment Center in Studio City, CA.

Tickets are on sale now for the all-ages high energy benefit which features 34 lanes of bowling action, a No-Limit All-In Texas Hold’em professional-level poker tournament, delicious food courtesy of Whole Foods Market, drinks, the excitement of celebrities on the red carpet and much more.

The annual Stars & Strikes event raises funds and awareness for APCH, a safe haven in South Central Los Angeles which supports underserved inner-city youth and empowers them to take ownership of the quality and direction of their lives through programs in education, the arts, nutrition, fitness, college preparation and college scholarships.

Over the past six years, Stars & Strikes has raised more than $500,000 for APCH’s free programs with a focus on the teens; providing recreation, field trips, academic tutoring, college preparation and college tours for hundreds of South Central teens, many of whom have gone on to break negative cycles and be the first in their families to attend college.

“Proceeds from this event will make a meaningful difference in the lives of the hundreds of young people we work with every day at A Place Called Home,” said Jonathan Zeichner, Executive Director, A Place Called Home. “The energy of the night is phenomenal and always great fun with supporters, artists and celebrity ambassadors coming out to empower the youth in our community.”
